This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
A friend of mine in England used to do that. She had this comercial washer and a heavy duty commercial sewing machine in this dusty dirty little back room of a saddlery, with no windows. It had to have been bad for her health! Horse hair everywhere!
I bet... the blankets get so filthy, they're on the horses 24/7 all winter in rain and mud. I wouldn't put them in our washer! And I washed Bay's blanket ONE time by hand. Never again! It weighed about 150 pounds wet, it was like moving a body.
I just don't know how this lady makes money charging so little for repairs. She charged $85 to wash and repair 6 blankets, and most of them needed new straps or other repairs.
I wouldnt do it for that!
Those pups are to die for, Rose! So adorable!!
I Know! : ) It is going to be so hard to let them go to new homes! I didnt think I should post all the pics I have taken, with 10 more puppies, there are a lot!! LOL Sally our Australian shepherd likes to let them all run about then round them up! LOL I am so tempted to keep a Lemon basset! They are my favorite, my adult bassets are TRIS. Deaconjim, says No though, but maybe if I have one left.....? : )
So that I dont take up space on a topic that is not horsey.....: ) Here is a link to some new photos that i have just taken.

I will post this one though because it's too cute not to share it!
Those pups are adorable! They're about the age to send them off aren't they? That part would tear me up... Remind me never to have puppies!
They are getting close, the ones that will be local will be ready in a week, and the ones that will be shipped will be ready begining of September....if I had my way, we would keep them all! I am getting a lot of interest though, and the people sound really nice. I just dont think i could do this again. Baxter will have to be kept to himself at certain times! :)
Awesome pic of the mountain before she blew .. quite a differenct, huh?:
Is that like 'don't have a cow'?
Have been gone many days and problems with camera/film. I promised I would post pics of the Giant appaloosas and will tomorrow.
Car broke down, dog got a noseful of porcupine quills, and the wound on my Accident-Prone thoroughbred is coming out into proud flesh. Vet tomorrow.
Later and greetings to all SB
I'm just dont think I'm cut out to be a breeder. I like mine just fine as family pets. I spend far to much money on my animals and they get all my love and care. I guess that a breeder must learn to detach themselves from the puppies so that they dont break down everytime one gets sold!
I'm going to be a wreck by the time I sell them all!
Oh dear.... triple sorry!
Peruse! Peruse! It's such a profound change in the whole valley floor for so many miles out.... It would have been a pretty amazing place to be for those moments and hours when it all changed.
