This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

No goofus, the dog got kicked by somebody else's horse and now she's mad at CindyDawg's horse just because she's a horse.

Have you ever made fig preserves?
We have already been down that road. She knows better. Sarah (my grandaughter) very hyper. She has no fear and I have to watch her closely. She's horse crazy though. She loves to look at pictures here and thinks all the "baby" horses hers and names them. I figure she thinks she "has" 20 or so horses now and knows who is who. Her favorite is Duchess' "Lacey"

No, I haven't ever made preserves of any kind. I'm not a good cook at all. My sister-in-law just made a batch last week and was making another batch today. I think they turned out pretty good. I haven't tried them yet. Are yours done yet?
I may have really confused him now by calling my granddaughter "Sarah":')
She needs her own horse and to take riding classes to learn how to ride. Might as well get her started in the right direction.
LOL! Well, you gotta admit that your dog being named Cindydawg and your screen name being CindyDawg is confusing enough, but when we get to talking about the dog, well, it just gets beyond confusing.
LOL! Sorry. Not made them yet but they are washed and in a pan covered with sugar. Going to keep them in the fridge until tomorrow afternoon. Then try my hand at it.

She's starting lessons on Saturdays. You see the brace? Her hips turn in. I wanted to make sure the orthopedistic alright with her riding. She was given the ok this week. We are going to wait awhile on the horse though.

Great! That is even better to let her take the lessons first. By the time she gets her own horse she will be fired up. : )

Night all. I have jury duty again in the morning. Gonna call it a night because I want to get up at 4 and watch Discovery come in.
