This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Hey more planters for Cav! :-)
I want him to see the fire truck:')
I was horse surfing this evening and paid more attention to the ads. I see what yall mean. I also noticed kids used a lot. I saw one of a baby that looked about 2 but my favorite was "granny riding":')
There's a horse trader (buys horses at auction and resells) here who puts "my kids can ride with a halter and a lead rope" in all her ads. Course her kids are the scrappiest little riders that can buck out anything. Those kids have been stuck on some horse or another since they could walk. She's a card though.... tough little woman. She's the one that we took the pony to for 30 days. and, by the end of it, her kids could ride her with a halter and a lead rope! Didn't say a thing about whether anyone ~elses~ kids would survive it.
Yeah. Funny stuff. There is this one auction I go to occasionally where this horse seller will get behind and pull a tail and she and a little girl also crawl under the horse. I don't care what she does but it makes me uncomfortable watching the kid.
Good morning
Becky
Good morning Becky!
Morning Becky, I guess we are forunate, we have a well too. We use heaps of water a day so its just as well! We will have to have a well dug on the new property too. : )
our well water is always ICE cold! Very refreshing and we really notice the difference when we go somewhere where the water is not well but goes through a system.....
your replanted grass area looks great!
Want to fix our truck?:')
NOPE! I havent worked on a vehicle for about 7 years and I dont want to change that wonderful record! : )
I'm slow at getting them fixed anyhow. Lots of times i struggle to undo bolts etc and it takes me lots longer than most folks to get a job done. I Used to work on them instead of paying huge garage bills. I would get the manual, and figure stuff out. I was initiated to mechanics at an early age, and whereas my friends would get their bikes/cars fixed i would be handed the part. : (
Is it today Sarah Lee comes home, or is she already there?
Oh well. We will just continue to drop it to neutral and restart lol Actually when he starts really thinking about buying he will probably just rebuild the trasmission instead of buying another. I just hope he doesn't get real cheap on me and do it himself.
*yawn*
~sip~
She's about three hours out. I'm washing clothes and cleaning house:')
When do you think you will move to your new place? I'm looking again. Getting kind of expensive though:')
Here's an update on our cabin break in. The guy who broke in has been charged with three felonies. He also broke into our neighbors and stole two chain saws and broke his window. We went to the sherrif's office yesterday and picked up our stuff and got that little tidbit.I don't know what the third felony is, the sherrif was very close mouthed about it. We will have to come down for the trial within the next few weeks.
His father(our neighbor) called yesterday and told us to prosecute him to the fullest. He has tried everything to get this guy on the straight and narrow and nothing works. He was terribly embarrased and kept apologizing. I told him it wasn't his problem, his son was an adult. I feel really bad for him. Nothing like having your son rip off all your friends and neighbors !!!
We are back at the cabin this weekend and I'm getting ready to go for a ride. Waylon is out in the round pen eating the dirt (he ate all the grass, he just doesn't realize it)
