This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Well, that would do it. You would end up spending your weekend every two weeks retraining her.
He's growing up so fast! Check him out!
She's 10.
I couldn't find a pic of her dam anywhere.
Nah, he's turned into a sweetheart. Thank good ness, because the girls are all a handful. Hopefully, he will be going to a show on the 20th.
Boy, he's got enough oil on his face. Maybe that's what is making his eyes look odd.
I don't know about that.
They're charging a $900 stud fee for him and his "bulging eyeballs" are one of their selling points. Why is that?
It isn't the least bit attractive, IMHO.
Bulging eyes are cute on a Pug or Peke, not a horse.
Why the oil? It just looks to me like he would love to be hosed down! : )
Are you selling "Tuffy" at the show? He looks very handsome. : )
Well everyone, I'm off to bed. See ya tomorrow.
Thanks for putting up with my posts! :-D
A Pleasure! Enjoyed the chat! G'night! : )
Well it's getting kind of late here too, so i need to clear up and wait for deaconjim to get in. G'night all! : )
Just went out to pull some hair from Tuffy. I'm sending it off to have his color tested. Now his mane and tail are turning black. Black on a chestnut horse?
I have to agree with you there. I don't like bulging eyes on a horse, plus I always think it's an accident waiting to happen. Wouldn't take much at all to have a serious eye injury.
No, we aren't selling Tuffy, just showing him in the weanling halter class and color class.
Night ladies :)
Speed and her momma
Lacey
Josey
night, yall
Thanks, you have a good night.
She sounds green, but is a very pretty horse... The price is about right for a nice, but green and unproven horse.
The 'too small' looking halter is an Arab Show halter. They show Arabs in those delicate looking halters. skinny skinny spagetti straps and tiny tiny lead chain.
