This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Hang some camo net from the trees :) Tell them if they ask you are getting ready for TEOTWAWKI
Can't hurt to look, right? ;-D
She's just lovely.
My thoughts exactly, but I am not an expert! Far from it! LOL I just thought it looked tight on her, especially her mouth!
I'm glad to see you back. I'm sorry that the property didn't work out for Sarah Lee.
Now THATS a good idea!
Looks like they realized it was too small and switched her to the black one to take the other picture. ~laughing~
She is gorgeous. Is she purebred? I didn't know that buckskin was a color that popped up in Arabs.
Isn't that pitiful? I can't believe I didn't at least plant some squash.
Do you think the bridle looks tight Duchess? I am just curious......
Yes. Apparently she is the daughter of Tsultans Tstorm - some fancy Arab stallion.
The color is just striking! And she isn't very expensive. Only $3.5k.
Makes me wonder if there is something wrong with her.
Oh don't misunderstand... that CD was an excellent weapon, and I used it often. :-) Hehe. And I also kept it well hidden when it wasn't in use.
This is the ad, with personal info omitted.
Beautiful Buckskin Arabian. Tshazad is a big athletic, quiet mannered mare. She is the daughter of Sweet Chantilly Lace x Tsultan Tstorm. She has completed her ground training and is being ridden lightly by my 12 yr old grandaughter. She is smart and sensible. She will make a great western pleasure show horse and is classy enought to win at halter. She is 'National" competition quality.
Be ashamed at your sad misuse of beautiful Scottish music!
(rolls eyes!): )
Thanks. I've noticed that only seeing her every two weeks kind of, spoils (?) her. She's not as fine tuned. Gonna fix that.
No, I think the bottom picture is an Arab show halter and they are much different than regular halters. The top one doesn't look too tight but pulled up as high as it is makes her head look longer.
AWW. He's getting so big. He still a "challenge"?
The color is very unusual for an Arab. The horse market is pretty depressed right now for Arabs as well as Appys so that may be all it is.
How old is she? My first thought when I saw her was that she'd make a great endurance horse.
