The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

We had an above ground pool one year. I wondered how a release form would hold up in court???

They year we had one, I had a neighbor up the road that called and asked if their 11 year old who was a great swimmer could come swim during the day. Both parents worked. I said only if her older brother came with her and stayed out there with her the whole time. i wasn't allowing any kids in the pool without supervision from their own parents or older sibling, and I mean alot older sibiling. i was not going to be responsible for any one. She never came.

The mournful calling for momma is pitiful.

No way on God's green earth would I let neighbor kids swim alone in my pool. Not sure how a release would hold up in the case of a pool accident but I wouldn't want to find out.

I can imagine:(. I don't even like to hear an adult horse calling for another adult horse.

Glad it's you and not me.

No leave them all there for now, I still havent quite got used to them being gone....they are all doing great. Lightning is a favorite of Marks, so willing and magnificent! Lots of comments! The colts are doing good too as is Misty, those three are in a 50 acre field and happy. I really miss them all though......
I will get some good shots of Smokey and Sugar after we bathed them. BEFORE they hit the dirt! LOL We need to re-do the fly repellent spray this week, they seem to be dreadful this year.

Do you really think that is a real picture:)? Did the bull keep his footing or land up on his side?

He looks like he could almost be in postion to be laying down. someone might have cropped and pasted it???? Look how limp his tail looks.

It's hard to imagine a bull throwing himself around like that.

My friend was in a shopping center in London once and an alert call came over the intercom. All exit doors were closed. A little boy had been taken from "right behind" the mother while she paid......noisy shop......she didn't notice until a couple of mins later when the alert went up. 20 mins later the blond haired boy was found (age 2), in a gents restroom with his hair dyed BLACK! The man was with him and arrested. he was a previously convicted Pedophile. ~Shudders~
I wont let my kids just go off out of my sight.....

I don't know what happened after the picture was taken. I found it on Strange Cosmos a while back. It looks real to me. The tail hanging straight down like that would make sense if he was up in the air, and there's a cloud of dust over the end of it. In my opinion they'd have to be an awfully good 'Shopper to get the detail down that good, butI know it can be done. I've seen bucking bulls go through some awful contortions trying to dislodge a rider so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Boy, that's scary about the little boy in the shopping center. It gives me chills to think about what that piece of scum had planned for that little boy. I sure am glad they caught him before he got out of there.

Yeah, All I could say was "OUCH!"

But I think the bull probably landed beside him. He may have stomped the sh!t out of him when he got up, but hopefully he didn't fall on him.

I was watching a special on vigilantism a couple of months ago. One of the stories was about a boy taking karate and the karate instructor abducted him. They found the boy and the instructor out of state, the boy's hair was dyed black. On the day they took the inststructor to court, in handcuffs, the news cameras were rolling. They showed the graphic footage on this special, the boys dad was standing with his back to the procession of abductor, cops, etc, going into court, talking on a bank of payphones. As they get into his range, he turns around and shoots the guy right in the head, killing him instantly. Of course, dad is charged with murder but the DA wouldn't take it, saying no jury in the world would convict this dad for killing the instructor, who by the way, had been molesting the little boy for months. Dad got a slap on the wrist.
