This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Never rains, but it pours :~D
Yes, Hair, it is clean and not infected.
Staying with the morning and evneing treatment --- spray on hydrogen peroxide, wash that off, squirt on Betadine, wash that off, spray on AluSpray.
Fingers crossed.
Goodnight all. Will try more pics tomorrow.
Good morning

Her old saddle was a combo (roping, barrel) and pretty heavy. A lady that helps her with barrels told her she need to lighten her saddle up. I don't know if I agree with that. Kristy is so tiny herself, that between her and her saddle she probably has the average weight on her horse, and he's a big, strong horse. And she's not going to competeing at the level that a few pounds on the horse is going to make that much difference. But that's just my opinion, and I wasn't asked:). It's very pretty, the thing I learned about that tho, is it doens't last long if you do alot of riding.

Is that the same Rod's in Columbus,OH? I checked their home page, and didn't see any address.
Very pretty new saddle! She is a little tiny thing, I'd think she could ride with lead boots and still weigh less that some of the guys competing!
Yes, it's the same place. On my catalog it says 3099 Silver Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43224
Have you been there?
Both those stores set up very large displays at Congress.
No, have not been in the store. They have a lot of clothing, where as Schneider's is more tack. Have you been to the QH Congress?
Hi Everyone, we have been out of touch cause the last place had no internet reception and it was so beautiful we didnt travel much! We are on the way home and probably wont arrive till midnight. We are on the way to Memphis now and are then heading on 72 to 65 to Birmingham, AL. HI FROG!
We have had a wonderful time and have even put in an offer on a 100 acre farm in the Ozark mountains! Lots of prayers please! It's a little slice of Heaven! and YES Hair, I have pics but you will have to wait till tommorow~!
Yeah and she has had a kid and still looks like that:)
I don't think the difference between this saddle and her old one is going to make that much difference, but, like I said I wasn't asked, and I won't rain on her parade. No sense in that:)

We stayed near a place very popular with horse riders from all over the country called Brushy Creek Ranch in Jay, MO. It was near a place where they raised beautiful quarter horses called TTT ranch? Not sure on the name. It was just down the road from where we stayed.
Indeed, a new saddle is a beautiful thing, regardless of competitive advantage ;~D
Welcome back, glad you're having such a good time, and best of luck to you with your bid on the land!
I have a good friend in the Ozarks.
Thanks.... i will post pics tommorow. They are all on the computer, but as we are going in and out of reception, it's not a good idea to download them to photobucket as it will take forever! : )
Hi Sharn! Glad to hear that you've had a good time! Hope that you get that property. It sounds beautiful.
Thanks Beaker! We hope to get it too! : D
The children had a wonderful time swimming in the creek, catching crawfish in the stream, lizards on the deck, crickets and frogs and playing in a beautiful old tar papered shack! It was so quiet and peaceful and not once during the week did they miss the tv. : )
