You are welcome. I travel 80 and 280 everyday, and I am never doing the speed limit. I have to try to watch myself!

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like i picked the worst weekend ever to go to NYC. The Wilson bridge in DC is going to be down to 1 lane and now this trash in Jersey. If I recall the Turnpike is a "doubled fine" zone.

Just as well I visitied my folks last weekend, crossing through NJ twice.

I mean, let's face it, if you're not doing at least 10MPH over the speed limit, you're gonna get run over out there!

That is the truth. NJ highways resemble a NASCAR race some days. Other days, they are 5 lane parking lots!

All of the 65 mph highways are fines doubled for speeding!

Thanks for the heads up.  The wife goes into Jersey from time to time.

Me,  I've gone on record saying, Jersey is a strange and foreign land, with circles, jug handles, and many, many Wawas.  It's best for me to stand on the banks of the Delaware and ponder it's mysteries

BTW - I think I know where you got this info, but could you share the source?  (I understand if you're not at liberty to do so).

 it was probably sarcasm)

Highway robbery - except that highway robbers don't follow you around after they rob you, telling you how they are going to "help" you with the money they stole.

Paying officers overtime accruals from convictions they generate is bad policy. Not unlike paying them with seizures from drug busts. If it does not actually cause over reaching by police, it undermines the rule of law because it understandably undermines confidence in the integrity of the cops and the process.

Here in Germany, I found out the hard way that the Polizei collect the cash on the scene.

The government ought to be figuring out ways to move traffic faster, not slower. They should take a page from the Autobahn handbook.

Ultimately, the situation in Jersey will only get worse as over population has its inevitable effects.

One of the co-workers out it on the electronic bulletin board. I do not know where she got it from.

This effort started last week. Being in sales, I travel during the day in addition to regular commuting. A BIG difference in the number of radar traps out on the major roads. That's a bummer for someone like me!

You are correct. This small state is very over populated. And once developers try to use the SCOTUS eminent domain fiasco to their advantage here, I fear what farm land they have around me will end up as condos, malls, etc.

I have seen more cops the past few days myself. There are enough problems on the NJ highways and throwing this in the mix is maddening.

Thanks!

I've sent this information to most of my family that still lives in NJ.

You are welcome. Did you send it to MONSTER or are you going to tell her to drive faster?!?!?!

Not to be a wet blanket, but this sounds like BS to me.

I did a rough estimate and there's about 650 Miles of road listed here, double that if you count both direction.

50 officers is only one every 12 or so miles. That's not very dense for a traffic blitz.

This also has no starting or ending date. Nor does it even attempt to explain the source.

Shrug, I'll keep an eye posted as I spend some time on 287 every day but I've got my doubts it'll be any worse than normal.

I have seen more cops on 80 this week than in the past month. Something is up. I believe it started this week.
