Not being a scientist, I don't know. It just didn't sound like a realistic comparison to me.
I'm not a scientist in the true sense (Computer Science) but scientists have been putting theories out for ever that have been wrong time and time again. When they finally decide through experiments, evidence and observation that their hypothesis may be wrong they amend it, as they should, to a more plausible explanation. This is how science advances, learns and becomes more accurate.
What I disagree with is that science to some, is the absolute truth, in every case, and other means (philosophy and religion) are never consulted or even given an honest shot at possibly explaining things. Also, mysteries in religion are scoffed at yet mysteries in science are given great respect.
