You sure this etching on the blade is ok for the dishwasher?

You sure this etching on the blade is ok for the dishwasher?

The engraving is actually a coating that is fused by the laser into pits below the surface of the steel. You'd have to grind away the steel to remove the markings.

High-end knives are now laser-engraved because it doesn't stress the metal like stamping would, and the steel is so hard, almost nothing else will touch it.
