The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, I guess if it doesn't work as a freezer I can make it into a smokehouse.

Document everything from that 2003 return that establishes the non-taxable portion of your disability retirement. Ask your human resources or pension department to provide you with fresh documentation clarifying the distribution.
Call the number on the notice you got from IRS and when you finally talk to someone who has access to your file on the computer and understands the nature of their objection, explain slowly and offer to fax (or mail) your proof.
Be sure to write down details of the call: time of day, operator number, operator name, data faxed/mailed, proof of fax/mail, time operator claimed resolution would take, callback number.
If you are instructed to supply the proof/data in writing, include all of this aforementioned info in the correspondence. Keep copies of everything, even front/back of envelope used to send it to them. Send certified with signed receipt. Indicate in letter that you will call them if you haven't heard by date certain (which should be no more than three weeks from date of mailing, as my rule of thumb).
You should be able to clarify this rather easily. It's probably a keypunch error kicked out electronically.
All of this is overkill, unless you find out later on that you need it. ;O)

It was, and you even got the spelling right.Wow... sometimes I amaze myself!
You didn't ask a follow-up question, though,
I plead exhaustion...
Prince Imhrahil was ruler of what kingdom by the sea?
Dol Amroth.
And tonight I'll post a follow up question...
What was the Lonely Mountain's "real" name?

My computer got too hot and crashed a littler earlier... doing ok now though. Have you cleaned it? Unplug and shop-vac the vents and fan. Open the case and use a kleenex to gather as much dust or dustbunnies as you can. Check for burned/toasty smell.

Yeah, it's pretty clean inside... problem is that the heat is causing the video card to freak out. A new card would probably fix the problem, but can't afford it right now... so I'll wait a bit until I can upgrade the whole system. ;)

I bet I'm the only person in the county with a fridge with a red door. You must email a picture of that refrigerator to Coca Cola, and ask for a big white decal to put on it. They'd love your devotion to red-and-white.

LOL, oh ye of the "maybe I'll eat this fish I found buried in my parents freezer because it doesn't look so bad."
I was reading the thread and had to laugh. "Don't do it!" I yelled. Could you hear me all the way from Pennsy?

Well, not for the fish, but for the chicken breasts and the polish sausage.

Who were Carc and Roac?Yeesh, I don't know those names at all... I'm going to take a SWAG and say, "Goblins in The Hobbit"... but don't ask me to identify *which* goblins! ;)
OK, followup question... Who was Ohtar?

Chicken and sausage would probably be pretty stable. But fish? Oh heavens!
Maybe I'm superstitious about a delicate food like fish, but I don't like food poisoning.
Actually, I don't like spider bites either. :O|
I got bit by a spider once. It was nasty.
But I broke up with her and now I'm with a Real Lady, so it's all better!
