The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

For shame! I thought you would know that Minas Ithil was "Tower of the Moon", and Minas Anor was "Tower of the Sun". While "Isildur" and "Anarion" contain the same root stems as "ithil" and "anor", they don't mean quite the same. I thtill think we thould call him Ithildur.

Mornin'
Note to self: If you get to the gym too much after 7:00 a.m. the large masculine wimmin will be hogging all the lane lines in the pool.
That said, I didn't get on the scale this a.m., but I feel better, and clothes are fitting better. I feel kinda like 5-6 lbs. of butter scraped over a loaf and a half of bread...

Was it the Withywindle? (sp?) It was, and you even got the spelling right.
You didn't ask a follow-up question, though, such as...
Prince Imhrahil was ruler of what kingdom by the sea?

Clever! "Clever" is about all I'm good for. Don't look for "wise" or "noble."

I feel kinda like 5-6 lbs. of butter scraped over a loaf and a half of bread... I can relate.
For my anniversary, my wife gave me (at my request, mind you) a copy of Matt Furey's Combat Conditioning. It cost a lot less than a membership to the gym I can't afford and won't go to.

Thank you!! I'm very happy to report that I indeed seemed to have fixed the problem! I briefly opened it this morning to check it and it's extremely cold.
I just have to finish washing the shelves, get them back in and keep a sharp eye out for problems...but it seems to be working just great!
Also, I gotta mop that whole part of the garage...it got defrosted meat juice all over.

"RUTHYCULPRITSEARCH" is actually mine ;~D

I bet the door was not tightly sealed.
Those full length freezer doors often have a hard time keeping the seal, especially if they are older... and if they have been moved around. I think maybe they get slightly out of square. We lost some food out of ours a couple times growing up, and we ended up with a bungee cord from the handle to the wall, just to be double sure it was closed.

So ends "The Curse of the Mummy Mouse."
