The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

the Arkenstone dingdingdingdingding! We have a winner. Thorin was buried with the Arkenstone of Thrain.
Now another easy one...
What descendant of Ungoliant made her home at the appropriately-named Cirith Ungol?

I've had thenuggets for a week now...I have begun restricting their feed. I took it away and they will be without feed for one hour. Tomorrow it will be two hours and so on until 12 hours and they are about 3 weeks old. Then I will switch to grower and feed them from 8pm to 8am till time to process.
Andrew (Celeste's husband) has worked in a butcher shop and is going to come over and help Steve with the processing.

Fact 1: Nana needs a hearing aid, maybe two. We knew that.
Fact 2: Medicare doesn't pay for hearing aids. We didn't know that.
Discuss.

List the gifts Galadriel bestowed upon the Fellowship when they prepared to leave Lothlorien. Oh, yikes! Let's see...
Legolas got a bow, Frodo got the Phial, Merry and Pippin got knives, Sam got the box of elven soil with a mallorn seed in it. Gimli got three locks of Galadriel's hair, and Aragorn got the green gem which was the token of his new identity, Elessar, the Elfstone.
And, of course, they all got cloaks and provisions, and Sam got some rope besides.
While attempting to cross the pass of Caradhras, Gandalf sustained the strength of the company with a certain drink. What was it called (either in Elven or common speech) and where did he get it?

I admit, I had to look it up...so I guess that doesn't count. Maybe I should let someone else take a stab at it?

Oh, I don't care. Things are slow this morning. Go ahead and post your answer, and ask another question just to keep it rolling!
Oh, and thanks.
