Okay, I'm assuming that you are using a version of Windows. Do you have anything checked in the Control Panel for your mouse to automatically move to default positions?

XP just checked box is not checked to default position. I should add that the pointer always moves to a position that if I click it it will open something. Usually the start button but not always.
