You're brave. I'm terrified of snakes. I was out at the pool with the kids the other day and kept smelling a terrible smell. Finally found a dead snake that the cats must have killed. What a stench!
The cats may have thought it was after kittens, something they will not tolerate. Another good reason to let a couple cats hang around your barn. : )
