Says the horses in that area usually don't need them. He's coming out Sat which is why I really want to be there this weekend. I really need to stay here and cook and clean too. Eddie and I need a "wife" :')
If you aren't home, who would you be cooking for? ;~D
Well, farriers who think horses don't need shoes would have gone out of business in the old world. Sounds like one of those 'natural hoof barefoot trim' type guys. How'd you find him?
I dunno. I'm skeptical about this new trend, It's certainly far from rocky here and prior to this year I didn't know anyone who didn't shoe horses as the default, unless they are really just put out to pasture. Tiffney's trying hers barefoot now. Her horses couldn't walk on the gravel logging roads, they were trying to pussy foot around the edges. I think it's a fad, and I'm not going to jump on it for at least a few years... see how they really do. Bay's never going back.... we'll see how Cyn does. So far, she's great. But under the amount of work she's doing now, she barely needs a trim at 8 weeks. Any more work, and she'd be wearing down to the soft stuff.
