Heh. Sorry about the double post, I got a little click happy with the post button when things wouldn't post right away.
You should give trotting ground poles a shot after your comfortable with them at a walk. Distances for trotting ground poles should be between 4 to 4.5 feet apart for a 14.2 hand horse, and about 4 and three quarters feet apart for a horse. You can adjust it as you get used to your horse's trotting stride. Make sure that you squeeze with your legs to encourage him to pick up his feet and not nick the poles. You should do it at the walk too.

Heh.... I'll admit to not ever measuring, I just put them about '~that~ far apart' It may surprise me if I set them up on Friday and they are that far apart, but I'm no good on estimating distances in my head. ;~D

I'm keeping an eye on Cyn today, she sure is lying down alot. She normally does lay down and nap some during the day, she's the nappinest horse I know, but not ~all~ day. I'd guess she's layed down four or five times in different places and times today, not rolling, just resting. If I leave her alone she stays down 30 minutes or so. Every time I go out there she pops up and seems normal.... trotting around, nibbling hay, bossing the pony around, and resenting too much attention, like she always does.

Think she's just tired or is it the grey doom of the day outside? Mild malaise of some kind?
