*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

LOL. I've been giving them where a vet assistant showed me. My trainer prefers much lower though. I think both sites acceptable though.

Good morning...I heard a snippet on the news, about a girl missing riding a horse. Did you hear anything? I didn't catch the location.

I have been listening to the same station, but they have not mentioned the story again. I checked on their web page, but nothing. Maybe, I had not had, enough coffee this morning.

The big story is the GM layoffs and closing. There is a GM assembly plant, that builts the new Cobalt in this area. There is a lot of buzz, with the pols on radio now.

Good morning everyone, I was on another thread that caught my eye, There's No Place Like Home: What I learned from my wife's month in the British medical system.
I normally just hang around on here but Deaconjim pointed that thread out to me so my coffee has long been gone today!
Hope Becky had a good start to her trip!
We have just all been having a blast in the above ground pool, first time we have all got in this year and it was fun. Kids loved it. Trouble is its only just past 10am and I am starved. Swimming always makes me SO hungry! : D

Sounds like you need to work a little bit on "No Bird!" and "Honor!" < g >

Seriously, you can't fight Mother Nature, and Labs just don't feel right unless they have a bird in their mouth (a chipmunk, tennis ball, or stick will DO - but a bird feels best). When my Lab was a tiny pup (just 10-12 weeks old), if a bird hit the glass she would tenderly pick it up and bring it to me. She's still doing it - brought me one yesterday. Unfortunately this one was dead - sometimes when she brings them to me they're just stunned, and we can revive them.
