This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
My chickens obviously live in the low rent district :)
Got it. I'm loving learning horse stuff. I have so much I want to try in such a short weekend. I don't want to hear anying about Mexican restaurants, margaritas or family card games:') Just horse time. I can't wait until Friday. This may not be so bad because when I would get off work it was becoming more of a chore because I was tired.
Oh my goodness - does she realize this will kill the trees?
Oh and the guy next to us invited us to ride anytime we wanted. He's the one with the creek. Eddie and I plan to check it out. I want to see if that is where the water on our place coming from.
What a pretty place to ride.
Thank you.
Ok - have fun this weekend, and I want pictures of the view between Sarah Lee's ears. :~D
If it's any consolation, they find this pretty frustrating too ;~D
Welcome to the thread.
I hope it's nice weather tomorrow :~D
Good night!
Perhaps they are reacting to the signals I am probably sending.
I enjoy doing everything I do. It is something different that what I normally do in the big city.
Communicating with a horse is unlike most other things we do, and a lot of it is not intuitive.... they don't think like we do ;~D
I hope you enjoy the thread and ask what you'd like if you have anything you wonder about.... you'll get answers, hopefully at least half of which will be right!
Good morning:)
Welcome to the thread racing fam.
Becky
I thought I posted pictures of the beam...I took the boys to a memorial service at that beam when it first was displayed, but even before that I took some pictures of it and of the boys placing flags around it, even when it was just sitting in the park getting ready to be displayed. Later on, we returned and other people had come and done the same thing.
It would be very early in the Hobbit Hole, if I did...
We first noticed it while riding bikes in the park. I cried.
Hmmm.... well, if you did, I had forgotten it.
Good morning!
Wow, they still must be having server problems.
Good morning! FR is sure slow...at least for this dial-up!
Seeing the picture and reading the plaque made my heart heavy. So very, very sad.
Oh my...I wish I had a house on a farm that's as nice as that chicken coop!
Do you have the link to the rest of the place? I'd like to see it all!
