*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I'm loading some more pictures of Blakes and my bike ride today. Show you some more of Bixby, the Arkansas River and the area.

That does not look good. Are they perhaps missing something in their diet?

I don't know, but they are definately serious about it ;~\

Looking forward to more pics!

We've been delinquent lately with horse news and pictures, but it's been rainy! And we won't have the truck till after our friend's visit next week.

Then, we'll be back in business!

What a selling point. I wonder if they nest in the window boxes:')

Tell her she could bring that horse to TX and make a fortune letting him prune palm trees!

That's what I'm wondering. Why they would just start doing this so much during one summer. They have lived there for 4 years.

Her horses don't look bad. I think they could all use just a little more weight, but then their Arabs too, so it might just be my eyes are use to heavier Quarter Horses.

No round pen? But all the horses have round pens:') The ferrier decided it might be best to just wait until Sat for me. Suits the heck out of me.

Actually she has 4 horses:), and that is a good way to clear trees here. It kills them and they don't send up saplings. The problem is they always chew the ones you don't want killed:(

I've never owned a round pen, or worked a horse in one, in my life ;~D

Well, if she caught it earlier, she might have been able to paint them with that 'no cribbing' stuff.... if that stuff actually works.

What I really want is my arena.

See, I'm over arena's too ;~D I know they are needed for some things, but going around in circles, or squares, bores me to tears anymore.... Give me trails.

Our latest Horse illustrated mag has a trail course diagram. We're gonna build some of the obstacles for here at home, thought it would make for some fun at home when we can't ride. But it's been too rainy.

With horses it seems like there is always something to be done.

Ok, first a few of the sights in the park we park in and leave from.

This is the Bixby Amphitheater. They just built it this past year. Funniest looking amphitheater I've ever seen.

These are the piles of sand form one of the sand companies that are along the river and next door to the park.

Interesting and cool memorial... I assume that's a beam from the WTC behind the sign.

Ampitheater is cute... is that the stage?

HMPT. If I sold this house I could have a heated , indoor one. One day we are going to retire. I want to take his 2 precious lake lots and put 2 duplexes on. I for a caretaker and one for us whenever when and rent the other two out to fisherman and hunters so we have some income coming in. That small cabin an interesting idea though:')
