This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Oh and the house isn't 25 years old the kid was when it was given to him.
Becky
"Are you in its path?"
When is comes to Cindy, shouldn't you be asking the hurricane that?
I know a couple of "kids" here that have been given houses, FREE. No mortgage etc. One has let it just rot and the other complains to relations that he doesnt have enough money even though he has a good job! Some people dont know when they are blessed!
Howdy
I'll take a hurricane over a tornado any day. I can always take my money and leave:')
Kids have just come in with armloads of squash, zuccini and tomatoes! Anybody want some? Looks like I am going to have to get some ready for freezing! LOL We also have lots of melons (honeydew) and peppers almost ready! The kids have done great with their garden!
No, I use a shotgun in the middle of the bed to control that now.
Part of me says yeah! But if land is that cheap, anyone that had a horse could afford land to keep it on. Who'd board horses where land is that cheap?
In an area where land is expensive, boarding for money is more in demand.... at least by my way of thinking...
"splutter" Thanks Tuffy! You made me lose my coke again! LOL
Is it your turn to be clown? : )
I would like some 'maters, please.
Couldn't stay away could you ;~D
Speaking of coke, Tuffy has taken a real shine to drinking cokes out of the can. I can't be around him with a coke anymore.
Thats true, but I was thinking more of a tourist ranch. : )
Small log cabins and stables where they can bring their own horse or be provided with one, suitable for their ability, and trails through the 200 acres! : )
Have you ever seen the Texas Trans Pecos region? You can get 25,000 acres for $500. I'm kidding but just barely. Ain't nuttin' out there but sagebrush, rattlesnakes and mescans.
Watchu talkin bout, Willis!?
That had to be a riot. Sometimes you just can't get mad at them.
Probably tough to find customers out there.
"Tuffy has taken a real shine to drinking cokes out of the can"
Coke in one hand, remote in the other, yelling at his barnmates to get the hell out of the way of the TV so he can watch Mr. Ed reruns (however, when no one is looking, he flips over to the naked channel).
There's a few, not many. The town of Presidio has the record as being the hottest in Texas. It can be 120 degrees there.
Have you ever seen the Kevin Costner movie called "Fandango"? It was filmed in the Trans Pecos region and it's a really good movie. Costner was just starting out so he's really at his best.
