This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I have no use for people like that. Even if she had have been right, what a snob.
I have been getting those occasionly since my 20's. I've learned how to head them off but several times this year I have gotten them on my outer lower leg.I finally figured how to stretch but dang they hurt.
Glad yall are ok.
I don't ride in shorts because I don't want to get all scratched up but I wear them a lot. The longer ones. I do wear sweats to ride though. They are hotter but I get on and off easier.
15 Wow. I guess everyone gone and I better get back to work. I have some things I still have to do. I guess we are leaving late tomorrow morning if all goes as planned. I'll be back Tue with pics.
Thanks! I wasn't too worried about the girls and I. MORE worried for the boys. (boys WILL be boys and don't pay much attention to the skies...until it's too 'late'. PLUS, they didn't know what to do to take 'shelter'.)
They're now BACK on the land. And they have been TOLD what to do, when the next batch of storms come in.
I'm ALREADY looking forward to being back online, so I can 'catch up' on everyone's lives.
I feel like I'm leaving behind my family.

Becky, I LOVE the pics. Looks like you had a great time. When we look at real estate, one thing I am looking for is being able to ride on our own property and also, if the land joins the state forest, being able to ride there too. : )

What's the guy going to do with them? is he a reseller, or does he have a plan for them all?
I have that trouble myself, I don't know why. The inside leg seams and especially the one in the crotch just literally chap my butt. I ride in sweats in the winter and t-shirt type pants in the summer. This sounds awful, but I can't even stand to wear underwear under them. The elastic rubs me wrong. I don't know if it's just my anatomy or my saddle or if I'm just a wimp or what, but I just can't stand to ride in jeans.
Oh dear, that would be awful for me.... I don't get on a horse without anti-jiggle spandex undies...
Seriously, I wear lycra type exercise or bicycle shorts because I used to get chaffed.
Sorry your encounter with "Queen Bitch" ruined your day. If I'd been there, I'd've kicked her butt for you! Hopefully she took her big lummox of a horse and moved her snotty @$$ out of there for good... ;o)

I used to wear long lycra pants but they got so worn out and I haven't been able to find any more so I switched to the t-shirt material. They aren't nearly as slick in the saddle as the lycra. Plus, I looked like a watermelon in a grape skin in the lycra pants. The others are thankfully a little looser.
Oh - I wear the lycra shorts under my pants... And I think the pants you wear are the same as what I wear.... stretchy stirrup pants that are sortof t shirt material.
