*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I have his dam's papers and four of her lines go back to what is supposed to be the last ghostwind stallion. I was surprised when I just looked that up - maybe that's where he gets the look from. His dam is a leopard an his sire was a blanketed app - neither with the look of him.

Well, see!

Is the sire registered as well? Is he registerable? Perhaps you don't care to on a gelding, but still.... if you could it'd open doors for him.

I don't know anything at all about the sire except that I have a picture of him. I thought I would contact the lady who owned the dam if I can locate her and see what she can tell me.

He appears to have plenty of spirit. Breaking him to ride might be a challenge :)

He doesn't appear mean at all, just spoiled and willful. Willful is okay if it can be channeled, spoiled has to go.

Goodnight, it's been a long day so I'm headed to bed also.

Cindy - when does your daughter hear how her test went? I'll keep my fingers crossed that she aces it :)

Yes, he appears to be. He's got a real high opinion of himself anyway. But I think he'll make a great horse when he understands what he's being asked. He has the manner of one that would enjoy competition.

He's pushy, gets right in your face - rears up when he doesn't want to wait or be held in one place. Not wild at all, just has gotten away with this behavior since he was a baby.

It's two parts. If she passes skills tomorrow I know she will do fine on the written. The thing is that she's backed herself in a corner. She graduates from med aide school in Aug and must be certified as a CNA at that time. If she chokes tomorrow she's going to have to hustle to re-take. My little grandson just says "we need to pray for her":') She and my son so funny. Both super under achievers. This year it's like someone lit a fire under them and they can't catch up fast enough. Oh well, I'm not complaining:')

What's her name - I'll add her to the prayer list tonight although I'm sure she'll do great.
