This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
My riding instructor in California has a barn made out of cement. It seems to work real well.
THe entire barn? She use blocks? there is a huge stable that someone around here started and didn't finish that is blocked.
Yeah. I'm gonna have to have DSL in my office though:')
No. It looks like it was pored. Her family owns a cement business. Her house is cement too. The barn and the house are round.
Oops, I guess I should say concrete
Do you have any pictures?
I have pictures that I took that are on paper, but I dont have any on the net...oh you kjnow what? She has a web site..hang on a sec
shoot, the web site isnt there anymore. The name of the place is Rancho Los Flores Equestrian Center, and her name is Adriana Walker.
Dang. The Company name is Sezzi Concrete, but I cannot find a web site for them either
Hey I did find a website for concrete barns, do you want it? I dont know if there are round barns though
Nah. I just wanted to see what it looked like but it wouldn't be workable where we are building. I do want my office floor on concrete though.
I don't think a horse would try to go over that unless he was freaked out so much that he just tried to go over it blindly.
Oh ok. It is basically just a round piece of concrete with a door and windows LOL.
I didn't see at first but they are drop down. You could raise them if needed . Cool. I wonder what they cost. You have to contact a sells rep to find out and I don't want them bugging me.
Oh! Well that is even better then. They look really fancy. I would not doubt that they are a little expensive.
Dang, that web site has some fancy barns!
Yeah I figure it's one of those "if you have to ask you can't afford it" things:')
Don't they though? You see the one with the horses on the posts? You could live in some of those barns:')
Yea. Probably. I get saddle magazines like that. Beautiful saddles and you have to call to get a price. Sheesh!
