I could happily go a few dozen years without seeing any more photos of Brad and/or Angelina (and, until I get faster internet access, so could my hamster-powered computer)!
Her husband's impeachment and the sexual affair that precipitated it were still recent memories. Now, that scandal was causing a headwind for the candidate as she found her own values questioned by a key segment of New York voters. This was the delicate subject on the table one evening at a White House strategy meeting, several participants recalled. The president gazed intently at poll data and then turned to his wife. "Women," he announced, "want to know why you stayed with me."
There was an awkward pause. But Hillary Clinton did not seem embarrassed. Instead, a half-smile crossed her face. "Yes," she responded, "I've been wondering that myself."
Jabbing the air for emphasis, Bill Clinton gave his answer: "Because you're a sticker! That's what people need to know you're a sticker. You stick at the things you care about." ....
... For Hillary Clinton, current and former aides acknowledge, it has been a much more arduous journey. These days, aides tout her willingness to sponsor bipartisan legislation and to enjoy a cordial relationship with Sen. Lindsey O. Graham, R-S.C., one of the leaders of the effort to impeach her husband. But in the early days of the Clinton White House, she was known for her zeal for combat. Her instinct was to regard political opponents with deep personal antagonism; she was certain they regarded her the same way.
In 1993, White House aide Rahm Emanuel now a Democratic House member from Illinois planned an event inviting prominent Republicans to a White House dinner as a way of garnering support for the North American Free Trade Agreement. He assumed he would win praise for a clever tactical maneuver. Instead, the first lady was infuriated. "What are you doing inviting these people in my home?" she said, according to people familiar with the episode. Nearly sobbing with anger, she told him: "These people are our enemies. They are trying to destroy us." ...

A "sticker"?
The premiere for "Batman Begins" took place Monday evening at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles. Strolling down the carpet were MORGAN FREEMAN, LIAM NEESON, MICHAEL CAINE, ADAM BRODY, CHRIS KATTAN, GARY OLDMAN, DAVE NAVARRO and BROOKE BURKE, whose presence was eagerly anticipated by the man in front of the Hooters across the street holding up a life-size poster of her.
Also, TOM CRUISE and KATIE HOLMES were there.
Despite the misconception that all roles in the movie are played by Mr. Cruise and Ms. Holmes, Mr. Cruise doesn't actually have anything to do with the movie, other than reportedly really, really liking Ms. Holmes.
"Batman" was directed by CHRISTOPHER NOLAN, who also directed "Memento," and stars CHRISTIAN BALE, who has grown a thin red beard since filming. We asked him what it felt like to be in a movie that is getting so much attention.
"I have no idea what to expect," he said. "I'm prepared for some surrealness and then I expect things to go back to normal in a few weeks."
Meanwhile, Mr. Cruise, who really likes Ms. Holmes, signed autographs across the street as his girlfriend (whom he reportedly super-likes) walked the carpet. Then he bounded across Hollywood Boulevard to join her, blocking traffic on the way.
Ms. Holmes, in a gunmetal-gray gown, appeared less comfortable with the attention than her affable boyfriend, answering questions in clipped sentences.
But we pressed ahead anyway, in keeping with our constitutionally-enshrined privilege of journalistic endeavor.
So did you consider leaving Mr. Cruise at home?
"He was always going to come."
Are you happy?
"He's amazing. I love him."
Are you becoming a Scientologist?
"I'm excited to learn about it," she said. "I have listened to some tapes. And I think I'm a better person for it."

I wish these people would live out their lives quietly, like other NORMAL people.
The sunless tan is working out OK. I am using Neutrogena Build-A-Tan.
However, my fingernails are orange.
Any suggestions?
