VERY mature at 12, I'm sure.
I was in line at the grocery store yesterday when the cashier told the person in front of me that he would have to go to another line because she was not old enough to ring up the beer that the guy was buying. He looked at her and asked how old she was. She replied "17". The guy puzzled. When I looked at the cashier, she appeared to me to be in her mid to late 50's. I felt so sorry for her because she is going to have to deal with that for quite a while. But, she can probably buy beer for herself anywhere, without question.
