When they are in their home towns, or running for office, their door is open, and you can reach them on the phone. But once ensconced in the cushy DC office, where do they get their information? It seems, in that fetid swamp, they become infested with irresolution. They get the vapors.
Unfortunately, they change channels on their communication system there. Or as Jonathan Swift mentioned, their ears are controlled by dyed-in-the-wool Government Party flappers, who decide for them what they hear once they get to Washington.
