Ann should use some of her book profits to hire a trainer and nutritionist.
IMHO, Ann is an entertainer and commentator, not a serious political thinker, which is good, because serious political thinkers aren't entertaining. She's more of a female Rush. I've read all her books and columns, and enjoy her TV appearances, but I'm not some starry-eyed fan with a crush on some unattainable fantasy woman, as texasflower thinks all men who like Ann are. She says things that make liberals mad, which I enjoy. She's also combative, which is natural, since she's attacked on every TV show she goes on, and I've read some really nasty things by lefties (and FReepers) about her.
As for the TV appearance last night, I noticed how suprised ferguson looked when Ann came onstage and was greeted by thunderous applause. I think he had intended to ambush her, but was scared off by the applause she received. He still acted obnoxious and clueless, but that may be his natural manner.
As for all the nasty name-calling attacks on Ann fans by texasflower, I'll let her remarks speak for themselves. I stlll suspect jealousy, especially after how violently she denied it.
EAT SOMETHING, ANN!!
Yeah, I agree...
Still looking like she needs to have more than a glass of water for every meal.
"how suprised ferguson looked when Ann came onstage and was greeted by thunderous applause. I think he had intended to ambush her, but was scared off by the applause she received. He still acted obnoxious and clueless..."
This was my first time watching Ann, most of whose books and columns I have read and applauded, wheras I watch Craig several times a week and have grown to like him.
Ferguson is an employee of David Letterman's company, World Wide Pants. I believe that since he is "new" in the talk show format and relatively new in this country, that he is not entirely in control of his guest list. Even Letterman's show constantly contains people there to flack their books or for some obviously promotional reason, such as this being sweeps week.
Craig has appeared rather neutral politically, and is unusually warm and kind-hearted. He did indicate he didn't understand why Ann brought up Clinton immediately. She repeated and repeated a tasteless claim that all Clinton wants is a woman with a mouth, which I believe lowered the tone instantly. Craig also indicated that because he is Scottish, he didn't understand another of Ann's remarks, apparently a self-deprecating way of asking her to clarify her meaning.
All in all, it was not a great interview for either party, and it's a shame, because he seems a polite man like Johnny Carson, who showcases guests from a wide spectrum. He even made an interview in March with the terminally sour Maureen Dowd palatable by using light quips and flattery about her green boots, presumably to deflect the conversation from blatant political ax-grinding. He tried to do the same with Ann, reminding her he wanted to talk about "the real Ann", but she was on the defensive and showing a bitter edge from the get-go.
I very much hope to see her another time when she might appear more responsive rather than reactive.
As for the TV appearance last night, I noticed how surprised ferguson looked when Ann came onstage and was greeted by thunderous applause. That was our plan. :o)I think he had intended to ambush her, but was scared off by the applause she received.
In the words of President Bush:"Mission ACCOMPLISHED!"
All in all, it was not a great interview for either party, and it's a shame...I have to agee with you.
This interview COULD have gone much better. The GOOD news is, Ann **is** getting much better at "non-combat" interactions. :o)
She has ALWAYS been the best on ATTACK.Now, she just needs to refine her ability to charm the "mass market" audiences...
...i.e., at TIME magazine, on the "Tonight Show" -- and on "fluff programs, like the "Late, Late Show."Next up, Ann on OPRAH. :o)
I have to agee with you.Gee whiz. :(
agee obviously SHOULD HAVE been agree.
To be honest, I hope that doesn't happen anytime in the near future. I think their personalities would really clash & it could get very ugly. Also, it is Oprah's show, so she could edit it any way she wanted. Ann does best on live tv, where her words can't be distorted by malicious editing.
Also, well done to RonDog & everyone else who attended the taping. I think you might have saved her from an attack last night-especially the 20 Marines!
If she stood sideways and stuck out her tongue, she'd look like a zipper.
And tell me something else. You said yourself that she is obnoxious and a B_________. So what EXACTLY makes my comments, which were exactly the same as yours, so bad?
You said the same thing. Yet you stoop to using my dead father as a weapon. Sick.
I saw the show the same way you did. I also agree with your impression of Craig Ferguson.
He's very charmng and very funny, with a warm heart.
...from Ann's visit to our post-"Late, Late Show"-taping PARTY:
The GIANT (3-foot by 4-foot) card that we got for Ann,
signed by everyone at the post-taping party

Your fearless doorkeeper from last night.Which one?
The 10% of Freepers who are Coulter Droids should spend less time watching Ms Coulter, and more time fighting the forces that threaten decency, like Jack Ryan does
The 10% of Freepers who are Coulter Droids should spend less time watching Ms Coulter, and more time fighting the forces that threaten decency, like Jack Ryan does...Just so that I am clear on the concept...
...you are recommending that we should terminate our support for a REAL person, who is leading the charge in our noble fight against the forces of Darkness......so that we can emulate a FICTIONAL character?
Let me know when the photos/new thread come up.Will do. :o)I want to send them to my group that were also there.
We should have the new thread up some time this evening.I will also FReep-mail you the link to a few PRIVATE images that are perhaps better NOT posted here -- on a public forum. :o)
Nothing too risque, just a few goofy shots -- after they started singing Karaoke, later in the evening.
Anne Coulter once was germane; but now she is passe.
Jack Ryan, in contrast, is always relevant. However, he is (admittedly) a fictional man of action
For deep & profound conservative ideas, I suggest you turn to Victor Davis Hanson
