OMG - He DEFINITELY has a death wish. We are no where near as anti-social as you guys, but coolbreeze would be a dead man if he did that to me.

I put bratwurst and sauerkraut in the crockpot a couple of hours ago - it wasn't necessary to do so because we weren't going anywhere - but coolbreeze has been trying to get all the drywall up in the attic and helping me do that kept Jax out from under his feet for awhile.

If I want that space usuable anytime soon, I'm going to be spending most of this coming week remembering how to mud and tape and finish drywall.......otherwise it will be at least this time next month before we can get someone in to do it for us.........besides, I've got better things to do with the $$$ it would cost us to pay someone to do it.

I hate to tape and float drywall-but I did some of it again when we built this house-there is a white fiber mesh that came onto the market a few years ago that is really easy to apply, sticks well and never folds or crumples when you smooth it to the mud with a knife-I still have nearly a full roll of it in the garage, but I know that doesn't help you...

well it was a very enjoyable evening, as i knew it would be, once i had the dinner stuff put together. for one thing, although we didn't know the parents of her little friend well, we did know they were republicans, bc xsbrownie had bonded with the boy over being republicans, during the election. they are exceptionally nice people, and rather than just talk about the kids the entire time, we had great a great political discussion, the mom had actually been a political appointee in the Reagan admin, and xshub got to get up on his soapbox to opine on judicial nominations and his experiences in the Senate during Bork,Kennedy and Souter confirmations. we had kids eating in one room, adults in the other. a good time was had by all.

oh and xshub got his just desserts for the impromptu invitation, bc the storm struck right as he had put the teriyaki chicken on the grill... and he had to risk life and limb to monitor it...
