In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
Dodgeball Day!
Subbie Slip has given her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs to xs today.
The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. Im just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words as if can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.
To me, my dream place is 20 acres in the woods, preferably with a high deer and turkey population, and no coyotes.
It started thundering here awhile ago and weather underground said rain and a flood watch for here, and hubby wasn't back from the general store where he went to get some nails yet-so I grabbed the weedeater and cut down the high grass and weeds in the side yard that hubby meant to do later on this evening-just as the wind came up from the north and I was suddenly cold in cutoffs and a tank top, the thunder was right overhead, so I wielded the weedeater faster than I have ever done in my life. Then I hurried to get the grill going to a point that I could cover it and the fire would still burn-got that done as the first raindrops fell, covered it, ran upstairs to shower all the grass off me, and still no hubby. Ran back downstairs to cook rice and get spinach ready to steam, ran out into the rain to check the grill (still lighted)-and finally, here comes hubby through the door to the garage, nails in hand. When I said "where the hell WERE you" he said he ran into a neighbor at the general store and they got involved in a discussion about TIRES FOR 4X4's! I said well, when the rain started, knowing that I was going to grill ribs tonight, didn't it occur to him that I might have needed some help with the grill-apparently it did not-but he did thank me for cutting the side yard-and now, I must suffer like xshub did last night, grilling in the rain-and I didn't even do anything wrong...
I could get a McMansion here for that, too-in fact there is one for sale that is to die for, but it is in the aforementioned gated neighborhood, and there is no way I could even afford the mandatory HOA fees, never mind the house payment, even if I got a good price for my house...
Get him, lol.
How much? I need to get the heck out of here.
i grew up on 8 acres of land in the woods, went to an urban college and law school and lived in the city, now i live in the suburbs. i am happy where i am, i wouldn't mind more land, but i still would want to be accessible to a decent sized city, for shopping purposes if for no other reason : )
get his @$$ out there comandeering that grill. he is off shooting his mouth while you do his chores and you are slaving making a nice meal for him. for SHAME, t5's hub! / gomer pyle voice.
Well, ow. Just ow.
It is a log home-a fancy, georgeous HUGE log home right out of a magazine, and the owners are building an even bigger one on some acreage they have livestock on a couple of miles away. I heard that it is listed for $550, but I will ask my realtor neighbor and let you know-it has a beautiful waterfront, too.
When my parents moved from Detroit, they refused to move to a subdivision because of association requirements. Smart people. I'd hate to deal with the internal politics in one of those.
The one in this part of the community is voluntary-I refuse to live where it is mandatory, too-been there, done that. The annual dues for the one where the gorgeous home is are over $1000 a year...
"This property may be occupied by a white christian family, only - with the exception that each family may have a single, live-in, coloured servant, as long as such servant is not jewish, or of another heathen denomination..."
He just came shamefaced into the kitchen and asked if I needed help, so I handed him the platter of seasoned ribs and the tongs...
aw how cute! it's best to be gracious when they get the point....
of another heathen denomination I wonder if they consider "Catholic" heathen.....
Drive down here sometime, and see for yourself.
oh boy...
dan's been here, that's how we met : )
LOL. Feet, do your duty. RUUUUN!
did anyone watch fox news sunday today? Brit totally cleaned the clocks of that group, beginning with Chris Wallace himself. i was LMAO alone in the room! Chris was acting like Sen. Lugar's recommendation of John BOlton (and he is the chair of the committee) was lukewarm, playing some clip where it sounded like the best thing Lugar had to say about Bolton was that he had committed no crime. he did it several times, once with Hadley the NSA, and then again to the group. Brit immediately called him on it, said that, contrary to Chris' intimation, Lugar had said MUCH more favorable than that and had in fact totally made short shrift of the charges against him. Chris sat, mouth agape for a minute, and then said, well i STILL think that his recommendation was quite tepid...yada yada. Then Brit slapped Cece connelly about the FBI faux pas that Reid made about Judge Saad. it was a sight to behold today! and the whole time Bill Kristol sat there laughing his head off about it, you could tell he agreed and was getting a huge charge out of Brit calling them all out on it.
