I remember talking about the incident to my brother several years ago, and he remembers it vividly. We both agreed that we wished we had been with our folks that day. He said that he had never seen the folks so exhilarated as when they related the incident to us, and they absolutely had no doubt of what they had seen.
Even then, as now, the newspapers ignored it, probably fear of ridicule.
