I grab a trolls attention, and while the troll is busy paying attention to what I am doing, they are too busy to notice the mods sneaking up behind with the "UNNNGH!" stick.

Works, sometimes.
Sometimes works well.
Sometimes the troll figures it out, squeals, and runs to another thread.
*sigh*

All in a day's troll hunt.
