Old ghost story.
Goes something like: Old woman sleeping in bed with her beloved dog at the foot of the bed.
She hears a faucet dripping.
Gets up in the dark, pets her dog, goes to the kitchen to turn off the tap.
Comes back, pets her dog and lays down.
Drip drip drip.
Gets up in the dark, pets her dog, goes to the guest bathroom to turn off the tap.
Comes back, pets her dog and lays down.
Drip drip drip.
(keep repeating with various faucets throughout the house)
Finally she exhausts everything she can think of in the house.
Comes back, pets her dog and lays down.
Drip drip drip.
Finally she thinks to herself -The shower! She gets up in the dark, pets her dog, goes to the bathroom to turns on the light and looks in the shower.
There she sees her dog hanging from the shower nozzle, torn open and dripping blood.
That was the dripping she'd heard all night.
Now, what do you suppose she was petting all that time???

OMG...that might be a little too scary for the grandkids. LOL
But, you know , most ghost stories are antiquated in our children's minds. I started to tell them of the man with the hook for an arm that was left on the car door handle before I realized that they would not understand.
