You REALLY REALLY need to talk with someone who's already in the Guard (and not a recruiter)about realistic expectations about service in the ANG. Far be it from me to ever discourage service in the military, but it sounds like your concept of the roles and responsibilities of the Guard may need some adjustment. Plenty of Guardsmen here in Iraq who thought they were in it for the money/education. Unless you are prepared to fight and die for your country, don't do it. My 2 cents....
Thats the thing, I would love to help out in some sort of way, other than voting for all the right people and telling liberals to go screw themselves. But, the OTHER thing is, I love my fiance more than my country, and my God more than fiance, which really has nothing to do with my this, but, I don't think being deployed 6 months away from the wedding would be the right thing to do.
