Hybrid Eclipse 2005, next 2023
Terry Dashner ..Faith Fellowship Church PO Box 1586 Broken Arrow, OK 74013
Not long ago, I told you that I was looking to the heavens for guidance. No Im not an astrologist, and I do not set the course of my life by the zodiac; however, I do read Matthew 24: 29, often.
It says, Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Thats interesting, is it not?
Unless you live on Mars, you know that tomorrow April 8, 2005, Pope John Paul II will be laid to rest. He, no doubt, was a powerful statesman, pontiff, and godly man while he lived. His legacy will live throughout the history of man. I bless his memory and look forward to his successor leading the Roman Catholic Church further into the twenty-first millennium. I believe God is doing a wonderful work through the Roman Catholic Church.
Moreover, there is another significant thing happening tomorrow. Says Fred Espenak, NASAs GSFC, On Friday, 2005 April 08, a hybrid eclipse of the Sun will be visible from within a narrow corridor which traverses the far Southern Hemisphere. The path of the Moons shadow begins southeast of New Zealand and stretches across the Pacific Ocean to Panama, Colombia and Venezuela
Fred Espenaks web page records these words, A hybrid eclipse is a unique type of central eclipse where parts of the path are annular while other parts are total. This duality comes about when the vertex of the Moons umbral shadow pierces Earths surface at some points, but falls short of the planet along other portions of the eclipse path. The curvature of Earths surface brings some geographic locations along the path into the umbral while other positions are more distant and enter the antumbral rather than umbral shadow. In most cases (like in 2005), the hybrid eclipse begins annular, changes to total for the central portion of the path, and then converts back to annular towards the end of the path. However, some hybrid eclipses may be annular only at the beginning (e.g. 2013 Nov 03) and at the end (e.g. 2386 Apr 29) of the path.
I might add more significance about the hybrid eclipse. According to a news report, This is the 51st eclipse of Saros series 129. The series began with 20 partial eclipses, the first of which was on 3 Oct. 1103. The most recent hybrid eclipse was on 29 May 1987, and the next occurs on 20 Apr. in 2023 (Earthview web August 2004).
Now why am I telling you about hybrid eclipses? Because its the sign of the times. I believe that Matthew 24 advises us regarding the last days, just before the King of Kings appears in all His Glory. Jesus, Himself, said that the heavens would speak about his imminent return. I believe that the eclipse that will occur tomorrow, while Pope John Paul II is interned, is simply the heavens sounding off once again, warning of the soon coming return of the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe the hybrid eclipse is also a harbinger to Pope John Pauls successor. The warning is this: Get the people of God ready. Jesus is about to split the Eastern sky and no one should be left behind! Glory.
Nevertheless in the mean time, Ill keep looking up for I believe that my redemption draweth nigh.
Keep the faith. Stay the course. Jesus could come today. Are you ready?
