Seems there are two opinions, one the aorta aneurysm and the dissected aorta, the latter being the graver of the two conditions and requiring a more immediate treatment

The medical terms "aneurism" and "dissection" are being uttered by people that are not trained in medicine. At this point, my belief is that Mae has a dissection, and some people use the term aneurism as a synonym. We don't have any direct medical testimony, so my contention is speculation. But I think Mae has just one serious heart/circulatory condition. I have no idea what the correct medical terminology for that condition is.

Looks like a Dissection (An aortic dissection is a tear in the inner lining of the aorta) is a "type" of aneurysm (weak wall of the blood vessel).

Good info here.
http://www.heartcenteronline.com/Aortic_Dissection.html

"Aortic dissection is the most common catastrophe of the aorta, When left untreated, about 33% of patients die within the first 24 hours, and 50% die within 48 hours.

Given this info, it seems reasonable that Ms. Gaddy didn't see much hope for Granny. But, since Granny didn't expire, her condition isn't or wasn't, as grave as some may have supposed.

Given the info available to both parties it would appear that one side (Gaddy) saw the glass half empty and the other (Ken's side) saw it half full.

There could be other circumstances that doctors based their opinions on which haven't come out. Was she hypertensive for a long time, does she have hardening of the arteries (which can be a cause of dementia), does she have other illnesses, renal functions?

Regardless, hopefully the treatments she receives will be successful. (Given the bad PR so many doctors receive it would be nice to think her doctors aren't "playing or thinking they're God" or just seeking to make a buck and a name for themselves.)
