Can't think of all the various times, but the breaking news was at FReeRepublic many times. The Shuttle was one. Remember we are nationwide/worldwide and that can make a BIG difference. It's not a daily occurance, but does happen. Also there are many on-site reports of almost any happening here in the states.

True. But, it doesn't make it big without the MSM.
I remember the Shuttle thread. Amazing stuff.
And so was the tsunami thread, with reports from people there. As was 9/11 etc.

But, you are right that in those cases, we did truly break news and beat the MSM.
