It serves little purpose to call an honest police officer, who is just obeying orders as he is required by law to do, a Nazi.

No one is required by law to BE a cop. Any cop who assists in the murder of Terri Schiavo is saying that his next paycheck is of greater value than Terri's life. What's funny is that you describe the cops in the precise terms that DEFINE a "Nazi"--blindly obeying orders--and then say it's inappropriate to call them Nazis.

"No one is required by law to be a cop."

You're right. Are you advocating a society where there are no cops?

Our military and police force are based on following the orders of superiors.

Are our soldiers in Iraq "Nazi's" when they kill based on following the orders of their superiors.

Would you give every rookie patrolman the discretion to act as the Chief of Police,, and decide for himself what the law is. God help us

The war demonstrators and hippies use to call them "pigs"-
for trying to enforce the law and public safety against anarchy. Seems you have the same view of the police.

Police officers, by command of their of their office, have to follow the orders of their superiors. If they feel they are acting against their conscience, then they should quit. But, it doesn't appear that any feel that way. They are merely following the judicial order of a duly constituted court, noywithstanding, that you and I feel that the order is wrong.

God Bless
