I agree with you completely. My "devotion" is not to the Bushs, it's to Terri. That's why, if you've read my posts, I'm looking for a bipartisan mercy coalition to step in.
The Bushs are powerless, in this sense. If they storm the hospice, their governance is over- and Pubs can kiss their majority goodbye. If they do not storm, they lose the respect of most of the people on this thread.
That's why I think they turned low profile, and GWB is sending out DEM surrogates, and working behind the scenes, to save Terri.
It's a tough choice. Do you want to lose your majority, have Dems take control, and thus further entrench judicial activism and the culture of death- or do you alienate your base.
I think the Bushs have adopted a strategy to try to depoliticize this, and get bipartisan support to save Terri.
For myself, bipartisan support is the only way to save Terri now. I could be wrong. But, that's how I see it.
