Reason is a gift of God. The notion that faith and reason are somehow incompatible is a vicious rumor spread by a malicious Enemy who likes nothing better than to relegate the idea of faith to the level of mindless superstition in the view of nonbelievers. Thus, in my view, disdaining reason as a thing of the 'carnal, worldly frame' is the spiritual equivalent of running away from a fight because you disapprove of the weapons at your disposal. Speaking in amorphous platitudes in lieu of taking it to the opposition with fierce intellect and unassailable argument plays right into his spiteful, bloodstained hands.

'All it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing.' Playacting the holy man constitutes doing nothing. So come down from the mountaintop, put on that armor Paul talked about, and fight.

You're right. Reason is a gift from God. Unfortunately, the world's reason has been corrupted by sin. It's the world's reason that says "we are a nation under the rule of law"; Law which has become so inflexible as to permit the innocent to suffer death by the word of one whose motives may be less than pure, and the will of one who rejects doing the "good", because the paperwork wasn't filed properly.

Godly reason doesn't argue about the "right-to-die", because, since only God gives life, only God has the authority to take life away or to determine the circumstances wherein mankind may act in His stead in such matters. Those circumstances are recorded in the Bible.

Ungodly reason, questions God at every turn (if it acknowledges Him at all), and seeks to dislodge itself from beneath His righteous judgment. You mentioned the armor that Paul spoke of. Let's look at it, and see in what realm it functions.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;(Eph. 6:10-18).

The armor Paul writes of is purely spiritual in nature; designed to wage war in the spiritual realm, against spiritual foes. Although this war manifests itself in the world often, waging it carnally, or against the vessels they use from time to time, accomplishes little, if anything.

So many of the people who disagree with what is happening in Florida fail to understand that the reason Jeb Bush "cannot" act under his God-given authority to preserve life is that his sinful human nature prohibits him from appropriating the spiritual boldness and courage necessary to rebuke the unrighteous judge and his equally unrighteous rulings. And the judge himself was biblically disfellowshipped by his church for his catering to sin. That was an act of spiritual warfare with a worldly manifestation. Both those men need to repent and seek God's wisdom while there is still time.

As for fighting, I have fought in the worldly realm, against spiritual forces, more than a few times. I traveled thousands of miles to lay in the trenches with my comrades and it accomplished nothing; but to move a large rock, which is most likely returned to the place from whence it was moved. It didn't change the ungodly set of laws which placed the welfare of the creature above the welfare of God's highest creation: us. Neither did it restore the flow of life-giving water to the parched fields in the lower Kalamath Valley or save the homes of those farmers.

All those efforts looked good on the evening news, but the efforts were all too soon forgotten. We had fierce intellectual arguments and logic that was truly unassailable at our disposal, yet it was all for naught.

If you're not a born again believer, it's unfair for me to expect you to understand this perspective, and I do not pass judgement on your motives. However, if you are, and from your closing remarks in the first paragraph, I think you may be, then pray. Ask the Father for His wisdom to know weather these things are true. If you feel led to join the people in Florida and the District of Criminals, do so. But join them in prayer. There's no power in heaven or on the earth more effective at disarming the Enemy; nothing he hates more; than two or three Christians believing God together, and trusting in His mercy. The day is coming, and is fast approaching, even now, when God will deal with sin, permanently, and His righteousness will be the "rule of law", the Curse will be removed, and then, He will wipe away all tears.
