I fail to see what is hateful in my letter. I didn't know that the Free Republic is a blog.

It isn't. I'm referring to the emotional nonsense sent in by people like you - social conservatives and pro-lifers who are throwing a temper tantrum because they didn't get the right outcome. Alot of these blogs are on our side and do great work, and letters like you only serve to alientate our allies:

"Some of you have questioned whether I am truly Christian because of my position on the Terri Schiavo case. This speaks volumes because it is not I or my ideological allies who are casting people into the outer darkness because they disagree. The speed at which some of you have reached to condemn me - in the most literal way, since as a not-true-Christian I am obviously Hellbound - reveals much more about your spiritual condition than mine."

"Likewise, I've gotten some email from people who are actually angry at me for having the temerity to disagree with Hugh Hewitt (an anger that Hugh certainly doesn't share). We've seen what the you're-the-enemy-if-you-don't-agree-with-me-on-everything approach has done for the left. It's disappointing to see people on the right imitating it."

"Genn says that in the Terri Schiavo furor, some on the right are acting like the left, flaming people like Rev. Donald Sensing because they express contrary opinions. I can vouch that Glenn’s right; I’ve received a few very nasty emails, and been called “Judas” here at LGF, simply for stating that I was uncomfortable with judging the people involved in Terri’s case, and criticizing the junk science and unfounded speculation that has been all too prevalent."

"Glenn also points out that the “agree on everything or you’re evil” approach is exactly what has gotten the Democrat Party into such trouble; and I would add to that: 1) the failure to fact check, and 2) the willingness to believe in questionable sources with unshakable certainty."

As for your link to powerlineblog, I would suggest you spend more time reading history.

Huh? To what point re this issue?

Talking about legal process is about as entertaining as looking at Buddhist monks look at their bellybuttons while chanting. When people FEEL they are getting screwed, they break into a rampage like lopping off heads and stringing up their enemies. They usually reach that point after the rules driven bureaucrats are so onerous that revolt is more attractive than peace with injustice. We have moved one step closer to such a state. Justice is a thing one feels. To babble on solely about legal process is idiocy.

You make my point. Terri's parents were outawyered on this. But lets not talk about those boring legal issues as we insist Jeb send in the tanks (and I doubt the Constitution Party will welcome that line of reasoning).

I've seen several posts from social conservative "christians" and pro-lifers that want to quit playing because of this. You're like spoiled brats who blame the coaching staff because the other team is cheating. Jeb did everything he could do without going outside the law. From what I'v seen, he did try to intervene with force but it was called off at the last minute when the police around the courts insisted they would resist and carry out Florida State's legal ruling.

But go ahead and quit, we've always carried your burdens, and taken political hits from moderates for doing so, but it occurs to me that we might be better off without you. And quite a few of us are tired of covering for you political naivite in public circles. Have your tantrum, throw rocks at George and Jeb, quit the party. The rest of us will stay here and continue to fight for Christianity and Morals and Justice.

The old saying goes, "nobody likes a loser." Bush is losing the euthanasia fight along with illegal immigration, and paying extortion money to the educational, aids, and pharmaceutical rackets. He is scoring points only for work abroad while the socialists at home strengthen their positions in the courts and government funded service industries. With your kind of help we will all be damned. Like Regan said, He didn't leave the Democrat Party, it left him. Bush is taking the Republican Party leftward. It left me last year when Bush signed a bill to fund obscene amounts of money to sedate school children with drugs.
