I have never been so proud of my Party as I am now. The Respect-life Party has gone to the ends for Terri Schiavo and there is no doubt as to where we stand. If there were impeachment and contempt of Congress charges being drafted against Judge Whittemore at this moment for his failure to perform a de novo review, or action by the executive branch to intercede in the case following this judge's failure to uphold the law, I might agree with you. But I suspect that there will be no significant change in the way the GOP has been operating up until now, and even the 'Nuclear Option,' which would seem to be more in demand than ever before, will not be used.

"But I suspect that there will be no significant change in the way the GOP has been operating up until now" I agree totally. The Republican party has been reduced to the party of cowards. A party that has the Armed Services, the Justice Department, and so many resources not precluding the Constitution itself, it is inconceivable why they sit in their thumbs. My party has lost me.

We are at such a crossroads. I'm glad they got involved. However, what is bothersome is the compromise that our party made to change the language from "shall" to "may." That gave the courts the opening they needed not to review the case de novo. Why do we keep doing this? Would it not have passed with the more definite "shall?" I don't understand how it all works in Washington but it just seems our leaders are always compromising and in this case it appears lethal.

You have no way of knowing that and if you expect instand response you are going to be very, very disappointed. Laying out an airtight case is going to take months of investigation, evidence and a meticulously prepared case. The law grinds exceedingly slow, but it grinds exceedingly fine.
A lot of strange things have been uncovered in this past week and I don't expect it to end quickly.

It was up to the Schindler's lawyers to push for the de novo review when they got in Federal court. They didn't. Bab bad lawyers.
