IIRC, California law allows the executor of one's estate to sue on behalf of the estate - in that case, the executors were the parents, as both were unmarried at the time. Even if Florida law makes the same allowance, Michael Schiavo is still the executor of his wife's estate, and still the only one with standing to sue. The laws vary somewhat from state to state, but I don't know of any way that her parents can do it.
I was reading the Not Dead Yet site, which is a left-leaning disability rights group. They brought up that Terri's being deprived of food and water is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. I think it's a pretty good argument. After all, we wouldn't starve somebody to death in, say, prison, would we? She is only being deprived of food and water because she's disabled. I wish Terri's lawyers had used that argument.

They need to have a change of venue, which those corrupt scumbags in Florida will not allow. We need to overhaul the justice system and get this stopped.
This is exactly right! If, we the people, allow such injustice, moreover preserving the sanctity of life, we deserve what rule we get.
Rush made an excellent point about the Lesgislative branch having basic constitutional authority over the Judical branch, article 3. The Judical branch is NOT the final say, we have it backwards today.
The fact that congress has not stepped in and overruled these usurping judges tells us alot about where we are at in this country.
As I've stated before, there needs to be a backlash of biblical preportion started against the judical branch and congress for not fulfilling their obligations to represent the people as we deem.
If we allow death over life, just because of HEARSAY, we are doomed to fail, and everyone knows this.
We better start feeling VERY uncomfortable!
Yes, even a Bush can be a coward.
