While reading the latest updates on the case, I remembered that there are still these congressional hearings to be done next week.
If Terri was still alive Monday, could she be taken out of Judge Greer's jurisdiction by federal authorities to comply with the congressional order to testify? Maybe some of the more astute legal minds here could take this question on
Apology in order?
down, boy.
"There, that's what I hope. Now what's your point? Or are you just another of the zillions of trolls that have slunk over from DU this week to instruct us all on how compassionate it really is to starve Terri to death?"
Wildostrich could well be from DU, but I've read enough silly arguments from enough regular Freepers that one can't be sure a troll is a troll. Blind "law and order" Jeb devotees are the worst offenders. I think a few good writers have been zapped for advocating too "radical" type of support for Terri too.
Mock all you want but don't let the facts get in the way.
down, boy.
The link for the full LK transcript where MS admitted killing both his parents the same way he is killing Terri is in post #46.
Seems like Mikey has a history of killing things that get in his way, even Terri's cats.
[Pulling feding tubes happens around 1000 timer per day in hospitals and nursing homes according to USA Today. They pulled this from medical records.
There has also been a bunch of post by Freepers on this is how their parents went.]
Does the article say in how many of those cases (sounds like too high of a number to me) an advanced directive was available?
Whether or not Terri wanted a feeding tube removed is still a huge question for me. i know, some of you will say the courts agreed that is was, but there are conflicting statements to those entered by MS, his brother and his brother's wife. There is even a statement from a nurse who stated that MS told her he had no idea what Terri would have wanted.
Court-ordered removal of a feeding tube seems wrong in this case. There's just too much doubt about her wishes to suit me.
Are you sure? I thought Rush said the Clinton appointees voted against it.
Don't call 'Grim Reaper' Greer - he took off early today for a long lunch, then he had to go home and water his house plants.

While I loathe giving this POS any credit, I will say that there's a possibility that his mother did, in fact, die "peacefully" after her feeding tube was removed, but the reason being that she had cancer, not because she starved. Again, to equate what's being done to Terri --- a healthy, functioning body -- to terminal, end-of-life care is intellectually dishonest and grossly misleading.
If it's so painless to starve to death, how come terminal cancer patients are ever given a feeding tube at all?
If it's so painless to be hungry, how come my 7 mo. old starts to cry when wants a bottle? How come my two older girls start whining "what's for supper?" about 4:30 in the afternoon? I guess they haven't heard: hunger = euphoria.
Sorry. It's all over the net.
He SAID (Michael) that it wasn't a painful thing because afterall, he did the same with both his parents. I believe it was on TV that he said it.
Look it up. It's all over. And no, not hearsay.
In his small little mind, he is, isn't he?
[quality of life is a sliding scale. quality is in the eye of the beholder. What if the judges decide your current quality of life is poor enough to warrent your demise?]
Did anyone else hear the caller on Fox and Friends this morning who was a nurse at what I believe was a nursing home type facility? She was for removing the feeding tube and made a comment about how bad it was that the video of Terri watching the balloon was being shown over and over. She said Terri had been a pretty girl and to see the way she looks now was horrible. She even made a comment to the effect that she couldn't image how upset Terri would be if she suddenly woke up to find that had been played on TV. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
I was trying to get ready for work and when I heard that I had to stop for a minute and wonder just how shallow people have become. These are probably the people they are polling about this issue.
Can anyone imagine the spectacle of congressmen asking Terri questions on live television? Theater of the Absurd taken to whole new levels.
It is time to quit the grandstanding and learn to live with the inevitable. This sad story is almost over.
