After her stroke, we were told that my mom would not be able to eat again. Fortunately, this Catholic family did not deny her nourishment. She lived another year and a half. She could walk a little with a walker. She could say a few words and make hand gestures. And it was joy when I was able to go up to my sister's house in Washington to visit and watch her eat oatmeal and jello. Mom was stubborn and was determined to prove the doctors wrong. Our family was pleased to help her do so.
Doug, I love you, but you know your story has nothing to do with this case. And just out of curiousity, why didn't you have your Mother live with you and take care of her?
