I'm in the mood to take pictures:). Thought this would be of interest.

This is a picture of the brands on Belle. The first is an AR, stands for Allen Ranch, where I bought her from. The one on her shoulder is a 2. AR, brands the last number of the birth year of the horse. Belle was born in 92. Their theory is (I don't know if I agree with it), is you wouldn't mistake a ten year old horse for a 2 year old, or a 20 year old, so it makes it easy to keep track of the age. I don't know why they would do this on a papered horse tho, but they do.

Then Harley was standing there so pretty, I took one of him:)

The brands are interesting! Do they breed and manage so many horses that they need to identify them that way by year? "Go out and collect all the two year olds" or something?
