I hear you, I'm way to small to actually ride one on my own. I could probably stay balanced and going fine... stopping would be the issue. I'd probably end up dumping the bike at every stop sign and set of lights.
Although my father's friend's son is smaller than I am and does it. I don't know how.

As long as you keep it up straight they are nothing to hold up. There is just a point that if you lean it to far, even a man the size of Mack or your dad, couldn't hold up even a sportster. I dropped mine twice, and Mack had to have help getting it back up. If you can reach the ground comfortably keeping them up is not a problem.
