The best way to explain it would be to use "ankle". At the back of her leg, above her ankle, put your thumb and forefinger lightly just above where the ankle starts to widen. Your fingers will be on either side, about an inch and a half to two inches apart. Lightly, run them down until you feel a gentle pulsing. Don't feel it, try again. If the horse is fixing to founder it won't be difficult to feel. On some horses you can even see it.
