Somebody once showed me how to find that pulse at the fetlock but I have always had trouble locating it.

Yes, sometimes it is a worry about thrush when their feet is always wet, but if you want to put in some extra work, paint the bottom of their hooves with Hooflex or neat's-foot oil to keep it from getting thrushy, and then let the water tank overflow. Really. Everybody around here does it to keep hooves flexible.

And BTW I don't have any dry-hoof troubles today, a terrific storm just went through, massive rain and hail. But it was very welcome.

I was driving back from the Victoria area yesterday. I fought a south wind all the way back. It looked like it was going to get bad a few times but it didn't. Same today. It's very windy and dark clouds but it's held off so far.
You know I'm looking for property don't you? I haven't found anything I like or can afford around here. If you run across any "good deals " in your area, holler, ok?

I used to use a product called copper-tox or a spelling variation thereof. It's strong stuff though, and I only used it when we had long periods of wet weather, or the ground refused to dry out. It's green, smells a bit less than horrid and stains everything that it touches. :-)
