Thanks for the concern:). I'm felt rather bad yesterday, because during the bruhaha, Kristy and I just kind of sat there on our horses. It wasn't till the horse went down, we got off to try to help. But what do you do in those circumstances??? I actually thought if we went running over there it would just spook him more, and then when we did get off and our horses, who at the start of the wreck jumped round a bit, went to wondering off, I was afraid that would upset him too...it's like watching someone ride a bike, when wreck is happening there just really isn't much bystanders can do.

There isn't anything to do once they blow that bad but watch and try to keep breathing. It's gonna end when the horse decides to give up, or when he breaks something.
When I'm sitting there watching a wreck in progress, I'm thinking, "thank God that's not me" and most of the time, trying not to laugh. I wouldn't have found your friends wreck humorous but I have seen some that were. When I was riding with all my horsey girlfriends long ago, one of them had a horse that she'd had since he was little (probably one of those dumb "let her grow up with the horse type deals) and she finally got him broke to ride. We were riding through a stream and there was a hill to climb on the other side. We were all riding bareback, went across the stream then loped up the hill on the other side. This girl, Carol Lynn and her newly broke horse Roper, went fine through the stream then took off up the hill on the other side. Ol' Roper hit the top of that hill bucking for all he was worth and Carol Lynn was launched. It was funny as hell.
Hope your friend and her horse are OK today. Have you checked on her? Cindy
